Signed for Houston Film Festival & Tripping up Trump

Tilda has signed up for the Houston for the 2009 Cinema Arts Festival which will take place November 11th-15th. She will be appearing at several festival events throughout the city. There will be screening of her films Derek and Teknolust. There also will be a preview of her latest independent feature followed by a discussion with Tilda and the director in Brown Auditorium at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston Nov.14. On closing night, after a performance by the Houston Ballet in Discovery Green, Tilda will introduce an outdoor screening of The Red Shoes. The 1948 film is a favorite of Tilda’s The 8 ½ Foundation, which celebrates children’s “cinematic birthday” by sending them a free film from the foundation’s Web site on their 8 ½ birthday to introduce kids to international films.

Tripping up Trump

Unlike earlier was told, Tilda has joined a campaign in Scotland to fight against Donald Trump’s latest venture: a multi-million dollar golf course. She has added her name to a petition to support four residents who have been fighting Trump since the project was introduced. Their struggle was documented in a Vanity Fair article that focused on Trump’s tactics to force them out of their homes and vastly alter the landscape around them. Swinton called out Trump on his bullying, to which his team responded by accusing her of taking sides with ‘extremists’.
